I was able to attend the recent Summit for a Sustainable Tennessee. I was again reminded of the great and largely still untapped potential we have right here in Tennessee to harness clean energy to create quality, career-track green-collar jobs. We also can reduce our current energy use by billions annually by adopting and embracing more efficient, eco-friendly habits and approaches to our energy consumption. This is not pie in the sky stuff here, we simply need to truly get behind and support smart and sensible visions for green growth and positively exploit alternative, renewable sources of energy that again, we have right here in Tennessee.
While we have leaders like our Governor who has worked to begin to aggressively harness such opportunities, like in the area of solar power, we have others, like my opponent, who has consistently obstructed and tried to frustrate such smart, sensible and eco-friendly growth. I will continue to do everything I can to help ensure Tennessee is an innovator and leader in harnessing the new clean and green energy economy for jobs and growth. I hope you will join me and my team in not only helping preserve and protect our state but also in creating jobs and developing a bright future for all of us!
Today, I’m at the TNDP SOS training in Nashville working with other dedicated folks who know we can do better than we are and will do what it takes to turn things around for their fellow Tennesseans.
